It was another sweltering day. I met a friend at a local used furniture warehouse in town and browsed their goods.
Worked several hours editing a 17-page legal report for one of my freelance clients. Otherwise, tried to stay cool, mostly in vain.
Went out this evening to mow some lawn and take some snapshots.
Here's the new set of wheels:
I know all the plants in my yard so well. I planted many of them myself. Although they bloom so reliably, year after year, I never lose the "wow" reaction when they start in with the fireworks.
This is a perennial called false indigo, I believe.

Striking red clematis
I often like to leave portions of the lawn unmowed to see what comes up. Here we have a delicate little wildflower called Red Robin.
Spectacular mountain laurel near bloom with rhododendron.
The Stairway to Heaven. You can see a bit of another huge rhododendron in the back yard.
