The sleigh is loaded up & I'm ready to go

December 25th, 2010 at 03:45 pm

Merry Christmas, frugal friends. I hope you all have a nice holiday.

I enjoyed a quiet Christmas eve dinner at my neighbor's house. A simple beef stew, I brought a side of broccoli and we had pound cake with a marmalade/cranberry spread and whipped cream on top.

This morning I'm headed to mom's, the sleigh-car is loaded with gifts and I just have to finish making my delicious cranberry/red grape relish.

I'm looking forward to the new year ahead and hoping that, financially speaking, it will be better than 2010.

Onward and upward, Donner and Blitzen!

We went a little overboard again this year. Not on gifts, we were very frugal on presents. It's the dinner that got out of hand financially. Ham, turkey and everything in between and about twenty guests.

Cranberry/red grape relish sounds great. I'm sure I haven't tried it yet.

I am glad you can get out to see your family. Down here in Georgia, we are snowed in!! I hope 2011 is a better year for everyone!

The stew sounds kinda good. I can't believe I'm saying that given how stuffed I am! LOL
