Day 7, 365 Days of Gratitude

January 7th, 2016 at 04:01 pm

OK, it's not the neatest fridge you've ever seen...

In a time when thousands go hungry or don't have enough to eat, I am thankful for having the means to buy all the food I need to eat.

You can probably spot my almond milk and the 2 glass canisters of my homemade granola on the bottom shelf, and the hemp seed and peanut butter on top. There are nuts in there too.

I really do believe that my body is a temple, and to me that means not consuming crappy, unhealthy foods. I'm not perfect and I'm tempted by a McD's double cheeseburger and a Diet Coke like anyone else, but for the most part I'm doing well in my continuing effort to eat healthy. It's probably the single most important impact my mother had on me.

I like your refrigerator. It is much cleaner than mine. You are doing really good on your 365 days of gratitude and you make me want to do something similar just because its so beautiful.

I really wish I could give you a big hug today. You are a blessing.

I have similar views on eating. To me, McDonald's (and most things in boxes in the freezer section of the grocery store) isn't really even food.

It would be a shame to retire with enough money but not with enough health.

This reminds me that I am very lucky to have my job, the income it provides, the roof over my head, the food in my kitchen, the gas in my car. Thanks for the reminder.

We really do have a lot to be grateful for here in the US. Our poor are rich compared to some of the people in other countries.

That's awesome. I like the fact that you stated "your body is a temple." I need to start thinking that way and not add junk to my diet. Way to go, and thanks for sharing
