Around mid-day, my friend picked me up and we ran out a few shopping errands, picked up DVDs at the library and checked out a small craft show. I bought $45 worth of cat food at Wal-Mart.

In other news, I applied and was approved for a new Citi dividends card. Spend $500 in the first 3 months and get a $100 cash bonus. After that, I'll go for the Citi Platinum Select card to earn $75 after spending $75 during the first 3 months.

And if I ever get a real job again and can afford "normal" spending levels, I'll apply for the Chase Sapphire card, which pays a $500 bonus if you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months, something I can't do now.

    Capital One also has a spend $500/get $100 deal right now. AS just got approved for that card.

    Discover card also has a promotion for $500 back for spending $3000, but the time frame for spending it is 5 or 6 months, so I'm signed up for that one. All my grocery and gasoline goes on the card, plus any doctor/pharmacy/car repair bills that come up will go on it as well. Depending on which contractor I go with to get my roof white-coated, I might be able to put that on the card as well....but I had to replace the water heater before the promotion started--damn, because that would have been a third of the requirement right there.

    Dido, if you're still reading replies, is it $3000 total you have to spend? I've seen $3000 per month for 5 months ($18000!) gets you $500, and I just got an offer on my existing Discover where if I spend $1000 per month for 5 months, I get $150. Way too much for too little reward; I'd get more than $150 by using my Amex that gives me 6% back on groceries.
